Citizenship, ESL, & Online High School Diploma Program - County Library
Citizenship Classes
San Diego County Library partners with local non-profit Jewish Family Service of San Diego to offer free citizenship classes at select library branches. Our partners provide free application help from accredited immigration specialists. Summer 2024 classes run from June 18 through August 22, 2024.
Free, 10-week citizenship classes will be held at the following library branches:
- El Cajon: Tuesdays from 10 am -12 pm
- Spring Valley: Wednesdays from 4 pm - 6 pm
- San Marcos: Thursdays from 10 am -12 pm
- Imperial Beach: Thursdays from 4 pm -6 pm

English as a Second Language
In addition to citizenship courses, several County Library branches also offer free English as a Second Language courses from local schools and organizations – check sdcl.org/events to find the latest info about these events and more.
Library High School
Over 160 local adults have earned a high school diploma with support from the County Library. Library High School offers adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online. The program is open to San Diego County residents who are 19 and older.
