I am a district school nurse for SBUSD.
Hello,
My name is Linda Ketterer and I am the Community Liaison for Elev8 Online Schools. Elev8 Online Schools provides a safe, flexible and supportive educational experience for all our students. Our school fosters student success in fully virtual, tuition-free public schools across California. Serving students in grades 6-12 (11 to 24 years of age), our schools are accredited, NCAA eligible and offer a high-quality online education and valid California high school diplomas.
We also ensure our students 19 and older are given career access through our WIOA (Work Innovation Opportunity Act) and the JAG (Jobs for America Graduates) program.
Lastly, we take great pride in our TREC (Trauma Resilient Educational Community) program, making sure everyone on our team is trauma informed, reminding our students of their resilience and strength.
Looking forward to collaborating!

Hello, we are the Encanto Tutoring Service. We organized to meet a very urgent and growing need in the Southeast San Diego Area. The need is a need that has existed for a very long time but was made even more visible after the COVID pandemic. The need is a growing disparity in education that exist in school in Southeast San Diego.
Encanto SBC
Purpose :
To provide access to tools that will raise the quality of education for students at the Encanto Elementary School and provide a model for creating other such programs in Southeast San Diego.
This team will accomplish this purpose by achieving the following goals:
1. Expand the current tutoring effort at the Encanto Southern Baptist Church, (ESBC) site.
2. Expose students involved in the program to future options for higher education and possible future career paths.
3. Strategically support parents of the program students as they encourage their children to succeed in their education goals.
4. Create support networks that will provide continuous and consistent support with resources to support students, families, and the Encanto Elementary staff as they provide the primary effort in giving direction to students and our efforts.
5. Develop a strategic plan to:
a. Present our efforts to the various government and non-government leaders for financial and material resources.
b. Create Public Service spots to promote efforts to the community.
c. Identify and develop long term strategic relationships with relevant sources
Background:
The communities (Encanto) south of highway eight tend to be left out of resources that would improve the quality of life and education of those who live here.
Tactic:
Appeal to those who are in control of the resources that are made available to schools in San Diego County that will put our schools on par with other schools.
Hi Everyone! This is Corinne McCarthy, Coordinator, School Nursing at San Diego County Office of Education.
The Grossmont Union High School District has medical sciences pathways at eight of its high schools, funded by the Grossmont Healthcare District. Our goals are to engage our students in skill-based and career-based lessons and activities, in order to give them real-world experiences. The long-range goal is to promote their entry into medically related programs and majors at local community colleges or 4-year universities. Eventually, our goal is "fill the gaps" in healthcare providers at all levels in East County.
Our needs are:
- Guest speakers
- Field trips
- Job shadows
- Internships
- Reverse job shadows (guest speakers + immersive experiences in the classroom)
- Health fairs (to attend or to present at)
- Medically related job fairs
- Medically related career roundtables
